Mountie charged with impaired causing death

Thoughts:
it is always sad to hear of a brother officer that crossed the line and broke the laws he or she is sworn to uphold. It puts all of us in a bad light as the media will always play it up and the public see front page news on officers that screw up. Of course let us wait and not convict in the media but let the courts decide. The really sad thing is that there is a man dead and a family destroyed because of stupid decision to drink and drive.

Story:
SUN1029N-Monty Robinson Delta police have recommended impaired driving charges against an off-duty RCMP officer involved in a deadly motorcycle crash last October.

Orion Hutchinson, 21, was killed in Tsawwassen last Oct. 25 when his westbound motorcycle collided with a jeep driven by RCMP Cpl. Benjamin Monty Robinson, who was off duty at the time. Hutchinson was thrown from his motorcycle and died on scene.

After an investigation into the collision, Delta police recommended impaired and dangerous driving causing death charges against Robinson on Monday.

Police are waiting for Crown approval of the charges.
